Family Love and Hugs Scrapbook Layout

Some of you may know that my brother (and best friend) was taken from us a year ago by a drunk driver.  Pictured above are some of his most treasured things; his kids and his beloved John Deere tractors.  His children put together a tractor run and benefit in his name and raised over $5,000.00 which they donated to the American Heart Association.  A friend of my niece's happened to take this picture and share it with me and this is what I came up with.

Cutting & Scoring:  

·       Very Vanilla – 8 ½” x 8 ½” place diagonally on trimmer and cut in half from one point to the other point making two equal triangles

·       Silver Foil- 1)  2 ¼” x 12”,  1) 3 7/8” x 5 ¾”, 1) 4 ½” x 5 ¾”

·       DSP: Soft Succulent print 6” x 6’ square embossed in the Timeworn Type 3D folder and cut in half in the trimmer by placing diagonally across the gulley to form two equal triangles.

·       Evening Evergreen- 2) 2 ½” x 11” pieces, 1) 5 5/16” x 3 ½”   1) 5 ¼” x 4”

·       Soft Succulet-1) 3 3/4” x 5 ½”,  1) 4 ¼” x 5 ½”

·       Die cut the rectangle frame using the Picture This Die on Evening Evergreen.

·       Die cut the Hugs with flowers and greenery using Very Vanilla and the Layering Hugs Dies

·       Die cut the letters for the words FAMILY and LOVE using Very Vanilla card stock and the Playful Alphabet Dies

·       Die cut two of the leaf dies form the Artistic Dies using the Silver Foil Paper   

            

 

Instructions:

·       Glue your Very Vanilla triangles to the corners as shown leaving a small border of the Soft Succulent showing.

·       Attach your 2 ½” x 11” strips of Evening Evergreen to your DSP triangles.  With a pencil and ruler extend the edges of your triangles along the edge of the Evening Evergreen paper and trim off the corners.  Attach on top of the Very Vanilla layer as shown above.

·       Color your Hugs die cut with your Stampin’ Blends.  Apply Wink of Stella to letters and flowers when done.

·       Using Stampin’ Dimensionals attach the Picture This die cut to the 5 ½” x 3 ¾”  layer of Soft Succulent, then attach these layers to the 5 ¾” x 4” layer of Silver Foil

·       Use Dimensionals to attach the HUGS Die to the center and glue the letters for family and love flat in the top and bottom openings.

·       Attach layer on the layout where shown

·       Trim picture to 3 ¾” x 5” Attach to 4” x 5 ¼” Evening Evergreen then attach to the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” layer of Soft Succulent.  Mount layers to the remaining Silver Foil layer and attach to the layout where shown.

·       Place leaf cutouts down the center and attach the Evening Evergreen bow with a glue dot covering the ends of the leaf dies.

·       Place the Genial Gems where desired.
